Heart Walk and Kick-off Carnival Pictures 2011
Psi Chi had a great turn out at both the Heart Walk Kick-off party and Heart Walk 2011. At the kick-off party, we decided to make donating to the American Heart Association fun for all by having different carnival themed booths around the Psychology Atrium including Heart Pong, Hearty Healthy trivia, What's Your Number pieces of candy game, and a Decorate Your Heart cookie booth. At each booth, raffle tickets were given out depending on how well you played. Psi Chi members and other FSU Psychology students then got to decide which raffle prize to put their ticket towards- a $100 giftcard to Bill's Bookstore or a signed football by the FSU football team. All donations went to the American Heart Association which we presented at the Heart Walk at Tom Brown Park which was a grand total of $490!!! It couldn't have happened without the great members of Psi Chi and those who came and supported the cause with us, we look forward to another great year.

Heart Walk 2010
October 25th in the Psychology Building’s atrium, new and old members alike attended Psi Chi’s Heart Walk kick-off party. We served delicious homemade heart-healthy foods (and some red velvet cake to boot). After announcing Dana Boebinger as this year’s t-shirt contest winner, Marjorie held a celebrity heart health quiz while Patrick threw prizes to the oh-so-astute participants. Jackie Romano won the candy jar guessing game, and everyone was pepped up to walk for heart health awareness.
On a warm morning at Tom Brown Park five days later, two dozen people showed up to represent Psi Chi at the 2010 Heart Walk. Before the event started we had juice boxes, fruit bars, and muffins so that everyone could grab a healthy morning snack to fuel their beneficence. When the walk began, Psi Chi sauntered out to the starting line in proud bright neon green shirts. Everyone within eyeshot of our spectacular group was forcibly made conscious of heart health! Despite the attempted escape by a pup belonging to one Scott Harvey, the day went off without a hitch. When all was said and done, we had raised $682 to help prevent cardiovascular diseases and stroke, and we even managed to leave with coupons from Subway! Way to go, Psi Chi!
